Role of the Student Election Commission (SEC)
The Executive Committee of the Student Body (EC) has tasked the Student Election Commission (SEC) with the impartial administration and arbitration of student elections at Washington & Lee University. In conjunction with the Electoral Oversight Committee (EOC), the SEC engages in the management and oversight of student elections. The chief aim of the SEC is to conduct student elections in a fair, impartial, informed, and accessible manner. As such, the SEC will answer any and all questions that students or candidates may have regarding student elections.

Candidate and Voter Guide Purpose
This Candidate and Voter Guide outlines the Fall Term 2021 student election process for candidates seeking First-Year Undergraduate (FY) and First-Year Law (1L) class Representative positions on the Executive Committee of the Student Body (EC), and First-Year Undergraduate (FY) and First-Year Law (1L) class Justice positions on the Student Judicial Council (SJC). Candidates are expected to act in an honorable manner and to conduct themselves in accordance with Washington & Lee University's tradition of civility.
