Jenn Backe ’04 Production Supervisor at Random House

After majoring in English at Washington and Lee University and participating as a work/study intern at Shenandoah throughout college, I was inspired to pursue a publishing career. I am currently a production supervisor at Random House. In other words, it's my job to make sure the finished books deliver to the warehouse on time. It comes down to a lot of scheduling, estimating and trafficking materials to and from vendors. Frequently, I feel like my job involves more math than English but I'm surrounded by free books and what former English major could ask for anything more?
