Eric Veres ’10 Law Student, University of Pennsylvania | Summer Associate, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, Washington D.C., 2012
The English Major at W&L required me to constantly re-evaluate my own beliefs and those of class-mates. Success depended not on my views, but on the effectiveness of my oral and written expression of those views. These three skills -- writing, speaking, and empathizing -- have helped me excel in law school. More importantly, they have helped me to figure out who I am and what I want to do with my life. It is hard to imagine a major that nurtures a more versatile set of skills.
