Professor Davis joined the faculty of the Williams School in 2022 after finishing his Ph.D. at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. While in Barcelona, his research focused on corporate governance and financial reporting quality. He has also worked on research projects related to the determinants of crowdfunding success. Originally from Northern California, Professor Davis held multiple jobs in the San Francisco Bay Area before pursuing a career in academia. These include work at the proxy advisory firm Glass Lewis which inspired his interest in corporate governance research. He has published in the Journal of Financial Reporting and Accounting.

Professor Davis develops computer programs for web scraping and text analysis as a fundamental part of his research and teaching. As a predoctoral research fellow in Barcelona, he taught undergraduate courses in both English and Spanish. He has experience teaching data analysis, computer programming, and the use of statistical software as well as traditional business economics courses.
