Washington and Lee University Brand Guide
The Office of Communications and Public Affairs ("Office") collaborates with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to develop strategic communications and tell engaging, authentic stories that maintain and enhance W&L's reputation, strengthen its community, and support its mission.
The Office is responsible for maintaining a cohesive voice and visual identity across all university communications, both print and digital, and takes a unified approach to the university's graphic representation to strengthen our brand and national profile.
We ask all faculty and staff to adhere to W&L's Brand Guide, which includes guidance on logos and wordmarks, colors, typography, and communications tools, to help us build, maintain, and protect the university's brand.
University Name
The full name, Washington and Lee University, should always be used on first reference. Washington & Lee (with an ampersand in place of the word and) is incorrect and should never be used. Subsequent references can include Washington and Lee or W&L.
