From I-81 traveling South, I-64 traveling West

Follow Interstate 81/64 to Exit 195. Follow the exit ramp and then merge right onto U.S. Route 11 South. Follow for six miles into Lexington.

Route 11 will fork just after crossing the Maury River bridge at East Lexington. Take US-11 Business to the right and follow it through the VMI campus. Turn right at the second traffic light (Nelson Street) and go straight, past Gaines Hall and the Lenfest Center, until you see the parking deck on your right. Additional parking is available in the lots detailed below, all of which are accessible via West Denny Circle.

From I-64 traveling East

Follow Interstate 64 to Exit 55. Follow the exit ramp, turn right onto U.S. Route 11 South.

Follow Interstate 81 to Exit 188B. Merge right onto U.S. Route 60 West and follow into Lexington, about 3 miles, where it becomes Nelson Street. Go straight, through downtown Lexington, past Gaines Hall and the Lenfest Center, until you see the parking deck on your right. Additional parking is available in the lots detailed below, all of which are accessible via West Denny Circle.

Weather and Road Conditions

Parking

Law Commencement: Parking will be available in the Parking Garage and Law School parking lots. Handicap and Special Assistance Parking is available in the Augusta Square Lot, located off of West Denny Circle.

Undergraduate Commencement: Parking will be available in the Parking Garage, the First Year parking lot, and the Law School lots. Handicap and Special Assistance Parking is available in the Augusta Square Lot, located off of West Denny Circle.

Accessibility

Both law and undergraduate commencement ceremonies will be held on Wilson Field. All those who are able to walk only short distances, have difficulty climbing steps, use a wheelchair, or need other special assistance may access the events via the Augusta Square Lot, located off of West Denny Circle. The University arranges for special seating at the ceremony when requested.

W&L provides sign-language interpreters for both Commencement ceremonies. Service dogs and family members in wheelchairs are welcome. Lexington Prescription Center (540.463.9166) is a local source for wheelchair rentals.
