Inclement Weather Plans

Notifications: If bad weather forces us indoors to Cameron Hall on either day, the university community will be notified by General Alerts, broadcast email, a notice on the university's website and other means. Separate calls will be made for each event, so please check the website daily for the latest information.

Doors: Doors will open to guests at 8:30 am.

Line-Up: Graduates and faculty will enter through the side door on Diamond Street on the east side of Cameron Hall and continue to the lower level. Ushers will be on hand to direct graduates and faculty to their line-up locations. Please note that a clear bag policy will be in effect at Cameron Hall.

Parking and Transportation: We recommend allowing ample time to arrive at Cameron Hall, as construction is underway in the area and parking is limited. VMI's Core Physical Training Facility (CPTF) Garage, located across Diamond Street from Cameron Hall, will be available for handicap and special assistance parking. Oversized vehicles are not permitted in the CPTF garage. The South Institute Hill Lot, located across Main Street from Cameron Hall, will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please pay attention to local street parking signage to avoid being ticketed.

Shuttles will be available to transport guests to and from W&L on a continuous loop from W&L parking lots, including the University Chapel Lot/Corral, the Sorority Lot, Liberty Hall, the Boneyard, the Duchossois Tennis Center, Lewis Hall (Piney Woods), Woods Creek, the Parking Garage (lower entrance on East Denny Circle), and Graham Lees.

Luncheon:  The post-Baccalaureate luncheon will remain under the tents on Cannan Green unless there is thunder and lightning, in which case it will move indoors to the Marketplace in Elrod Commons.
