Drawing Italy is a studio art immersion course. Living and drawing on site in Corciano, Florence, Venice, Naples and Rome, with day trips to Assisi, Siena, Cortona, and other important art sights. Students will explore Italy's vast artistic heritage within its cultural context, then apply this experience to their own art while working in the distinctive Mediterranean light. Media include pen & ink, pastel and acrylic paint. Student work will be exhibited in Wilson Hall in the fall of 2016.
Prerequisite: ARTS 111 and instructor consent.
The course fulfills FDR (HA).
Program Fee (paid to W&L): $5,300. This includes accommodation, ground transportation, group meals, museum entry fees.
