ARTS 213: Drawing Italy Italy

5 Weeks in Italy

Living and drawing on site in Rome, Florence, Venice, Umbria, and Tuscany, with day trips to important art sites in Italy. Students explore Italy's vast artistic heritage within its cultural context, then apply this experience to their own art while working in the distinctive Mediterranean light. Media include pen and ink, pastel and acrylic. Student work will be exhibited in Wilson Hall in the fall of 2014.

Note: Students should be prepared to do lots of uphill hiking.

Prerequisites: ARTS 111 and instructor consent.

Program fee (paid to the University): $5,345 (This includes accommodation, ground transportation, group meals, fees for museums/docents, excursions and mandatory supplementary health insurance.)

Estimated Additional Expenses: Airfare - $1250-1350; Meals not included in program fee - $700.
