Maya Reimi Sipala Class of 2012 - Venezuela

The thing I like the most about W&L is the support that you get from professors and other staff members, from the people in the Health Center, the Shepherd Poverty Program staff, the Center for International Education staff and most of the professors in your classes who are willing to meet with you after office hours in order to help you succeed. In my short year here I have tried to take advantage of the different opportunities I have encountered, like joining the Residential Life Staff or the Bonner Leadership Program. I have met students and professors with my same interest and I have been able to work together with them closely, like in the Campus Kitchen Project, where we serve food to different groups of clients lacking food security. This summer I am working with a professor in the Politics Department helping him research for two of his upcoming books.
