Law Students and Undergraduate Students
Preparing for the Email Update:
- Confirm your password: Make sure you know your university password. If you do not, you can reset it on the W&L MyApps page using the Forgot Password link.
- A two day maintenance window will occur (Law students: June 15-16, UG students June 22-23). During this time, access to your email may be unavailable. You may need to make arrangements to use your personal email during this time. The Outlook web app will be the most reliable way to access your email.
- Groups and Teams: Official O365 Student Organization Groups and Teams will be migrated automatically. If you have personal Groups or Teams you would like moved, please contact the ITS Helpdesk for assistance.
- OneDrive: If you have data in your OneDrive, please move it to Box before the migration. Data stored in OneDrive will not be migrated.
After the Cutover:
- IMPORTANT: After the update, you MUST remove and re-add your email address to any desktop or mobile email clients (Outlook Desktop/Mobile) to reconnect your email. Outlook on the Web will NOT need to be removed and re-added. Use the instructions below to reconnect your account.

Outlook Mobile for iPhone and Android
- How to Remove Your Account
- Open the Outlook app on your phone.
- Tap your profile icon or initials in the top-left corner.
- Tap the Settings (gear) icon at the bottom-left of the menu.
- Under the Mail Accounts section, tap the Microsoft email account you want to remove.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap Remove Account (or Delete Account).
- Confirm the removal by tapping Remove or Delete from this device.
- How to Re-Add Your Account
- Open the Outlook app.
- Tap the Add Account option (or tap the "+" icon in the sidebar).
- Type in your full W&L email address and tap Continue (or Add Account).
- Enter your W&L password when prompted and complete Duo MFA.
New Outlook for Windows

Law Alumni and Undergraduate Alumni
- You will receive an email with a temporary password, five days before the cutover. The law alumni cutover is June 15 and the undergraduate alumni cutover is June 22.
- Save your temporary password: Store it somewhere other than your current alumni email so you can access it after the cutover.
- A two day maintenance window will occur. During this time, access to your alumni email may be unavailable (June 15-16 for law alumni and June 22-23 for undergraduate alumni).
- After the two day maintenance window, you will use your temporary password to sign in, create a new password, and reset your multi factor authentication (MFA).
IMPORTANT: After the update, you MUST remove and re-add your email address to any desktop or mobile email clients (Outlook Desktop/Mobile) to reconnect your email. Outlook on the Web will NOT need to be removed and re-added. Follow the instructions above to remove and re-add your account for the Outlook desktop and Outlook mobile apps.
