Bill Oliver (PhD, University of Virginia) is the Coordinator of the Writing Center, and has served as the director of the CommCenter since 2015. Previously, he served as a consultant in the CommCenter and was the founding director of the VMI Writing Center (1996-2007). He is a professor of English at W&L and has taught a variety of writing courses, including in the Williams School.

Nina Salmon (PhD, Virginia Tech) has worked at the CommCenter since its inception in 2003. Nina teaches composition and academic writing courses at the University of Lynchburg and serves as the director of the General Education curriculum's capstone course, Senior Symposium. She formerly taught at VMI and tutored students in the Writing Center.

Judy Strang (MA, William and Mary) has been a writing instructor, tutor, consultant, and program director in a variety of university settings. She has been a consultant at the CommCenter since its inception. She recently served as writing consultant in charge of faculty development for the Writing Enriched (WE) Course Initiative at University of Lynchburg. In the past, she has taught college-level composition and was Assistant Director of the VMI Writing Center.

For more than 20 years, Sherri (MA, Virginia Tech) has worked as an editor, writer, and mentor of writers in academics, journalism, and marketing communications. She has copy edited work published in journals including the American Journal of Medical Quality, the Journal of Management Accounting Research, Accounting Horizons, Health Affairs, and the Journal of Business Ethics and has worked with copy writers, photographers, and designers to develop content and coordinate its distribution across online platforms.
