Theme House Application Instructions

Rising sophomores and juniors are encouraged to apply to live in one of W&L's eight theme houses. Students are welcome to apply to more than one house. If you choose to do so, you will be asked to rank your preferences. Please be sure to complete the questions corresponding with the house(s) of interest to you. If you are requesting a roommate, be sure your requested roommate also completes an application listing you as their requested roommate. The theme house application closes Monday, February 17. Once closed, all applications are shared with the appropriate house advisers who will make housing assignment decisions for the 2020-2021 academic year. Room preferences will be noted, however we cannot guarantee preferences will be granted. Theme house assignments will be announced on Monday, February 24 giving you ample time to arrange a roommate group for the Upper Division Housing Lottery if you choose to decline your theme house assignment. Decisions to accept or decline an offer to live in a theme house must be emailed to by Monday, March 2, 2020.

A few house-keeping items:
Theme housing is not assigned on a first come, first served basis. Placements will be appropriately made once all applications are reviewed. Students traveling abroad for fall term are excluded from the Theme House Application process and the Upper Division Housing Lottery. A separate application process takes place during the fall term to select Winter housing for students studying abroad fall term.
