Theme House Application Instructions
Rising sophomores ('26) and juniors ('25) are encouraged to apply to live in W&L theme housing. Students are welcome to apply to more than one house. If you choose to do so, you will be asked to rank your preferences. Please be sure to complete the questions corresponding with the house(s) of interest to you. If you are requesting a roommate, be sure your requested roommate also completes an application listing you as their requested roommate. The theme house application opens February 1 and closes February 28th, 2023. Students who wish to live in theme housing must sign the fall 2023 housing agreement AND submit a completed theme house application (see instructions below) by no later than February 28th, 2023.
Once closed, all applications are shared with the appropriate house advisers who will make housing assignment decisions for the 2023-2024 academic year. Room preferences will be noted, however we cannot guarantee preferences will be granted. Theme house assignments will be announced on or before March 6th, 2023. Decisions to accept or decline an offer to live in a theme house must be emailed to creid@wlu.edu by March 13th, 2023. Once students confirm their theme house assignment, they will be excluded from the upper-division housing selection process in May.
Theme housing is not assigned on a first come, first served basis. Placements will be appropriately made once all applications are reviewed by Residence Life & partners. Students assigned to a theme or fraternity/sorority house are not eligible to participate in the upper-division housing lottery & selection process. Students traveling abroad for fall term are excluded from the theme house and upper-division selection processes. A separate application process takes place for fall term study abroad students to select winter and spring 2024 housing.
