Welcome to Orientation Week! September 3, 2021
I will send you an email each day this week with important information for the next day. Please read the emails carefully and completely and ask your Residential Adviser (RA) for help if anything is unclear.
You can view the Orientation Schedule on the FYE website at https://my.wlu.edu/student-life/first-year-experience/arrivals-and-orientation/orientation-week-schedule. The schedule is a good guide, but some activities organize the class into different groups and you will need additional information from my emails to know where to go.
FYs moving in this weekend must complete their arrival test in Evans between 11am-3pm on Saturday.
Everything Saturday night will happen with your hall in a designated homeroom to help minimize close contacts until everyone receives their negative test result, likely by noon on Sunday.
Your RA will go over several things when you meet with your hall Saturday night at 7pm, and look for another email from me Saturday afternoon to prepare you for Sunday.
Voices of W&L is a can’t miss event you will watch with your hallmates in your homeroom Saturday night, followed by a discussion facilitated by your RA and Peer Counselor (PC).
Welcome to Orientation Week!
Please familiarize yourself with the Student Handbook.
If you have received emails from your initial faculty adviser, please respond to them and begin connecting with your resources on campus.
Please remember to read the book A Lesson Before Dying, which you received this summer. The faculty facilitators are expecting you to bring the book to your discussion Wednesday afternoon.
