For Monday, September 6 September 5, 2021

FYs,

If you might be interested in being an actor in Voices of W&L next fall, please email Jan Kaufman at jkaufman@wlu.edu and express your interest!

Monday it is even more important to be with your hall at the right place at the right time.  Attached are the times and locations by the last name of your RA.  For the halls that are split, please make sure you understand exactly where to be and when.

Everyone will rotate through three different activities (Perspectives, Bystander Intervention Training, and Traveller) throughout the day.

Perspectives will involve a walking tour of places you likely have not been yet, but definitely should utilize throughout the year.

Bystander Intervention Training will help all of us to further develop the skills and confidence to be active bystanders.

The Traveller orientation will involve student leadership explaining the safe-ride system (and will be less than 1 hour)

Please go to the academic fair at the correct time to keep the crowd spread out in Leyburn Library.

Traveller at 9am goes to the Academic Fair at 10:30am

Perspectives at 9am goes to the Academic Fair at 11am

Bystander Intervention Training at 9am goes to the Academic Fair at 11:30am

The Financial Aid presentations at 5:15pm are mandatory for anyone with a scholarship, need-based grant, loan, or work study (that is most of you).

Enjoy the interactive game show ThinkFast at 8:30pm and you could win $200!  Then swing by Game Night in Elrod Commons afterward for a variety of games and treats.

The full Orientation Week schedule is at https://my.wlu.edu/student-life/first-year-experience/arrivals-and-orientation/orientation-week-schedule.

Sincerely,

Dean Rodocker
