I am currently a tenured, Associate Professor of Social Work at Western Kentucky University (going up for Full Professor this year). My primary areas of research are homelessness, diversity pedagogy, and teaching effectively online.
The Sociology/Anthropology Department was essential in my development as both a scholar and teacher. The degree afforded me a solid understanding of the etiology of social problems, exposed me to key theorists in human behavior, and nurtured my intellectual growth in an atmosphere that valued high quality teaching. I would certainly not have had the success I have enjoyed thus far in academia if it wasn't for the rock solid foundation I received in Sociology & Anthropology at W & L.
