I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a specialization in neuropsychological assessment, and I currently work as a high school principal at a special needs school in Atlanta (an independent K-12 school for bright students with language-based learning disabilities).

I have Dr. David Novack largely to thank for setting me on the right path. I was struggling as 2nd semester freshman and took an intro sociology course with him, and it changed my life. Sociology helped me understand a natural affinity I had for wanting to understand why people do the things they do, which ultimately led me to grad school in psychology. But it wasn't just that I enjoyed sociology; David Novack was an amazing teacher and he took such a personal interest in me as a student.... that is one of the benefits of being at a small liberal arts school like W & L. My world view and thoughts about human nature were largely influenced by Dr. Novack. I was so fortunate to take the intro sociology course as a general ed requirement, which I ended up loving and majoring in it. Please give Dr. Novack my highest regards, I want him to know that I would not be where I am today professionally (or personally) without my experience with him as my favorite professor and advisor.
