Description: Author and editor of seven books, including numerous articles and chapters, Dr. Watts specializes in nineteenth-century French literature, and most notably, Honoré de Balzac. His current research delves into adaptations of canonical French literature in multimedia formats such as radio, television, film, and translations. His most recently published book is entitled: The History of French Literature on Film (Griffiths & Watts, Bloomsbury, 2020), which constitutes a continued collaboration from their prior book: Adapting Nineteenth-Century France: Literature in Film, Theater, Television, Radio, and Print (U of Wales Press, 2013).
