Fall and Winter Academies

What is it?

Fall Academy is two weeks of technology instruction, pedagogy discussions, guest speakers, panel sessions, hands-on workshops, and orientation sessions for new and returning faculty and staff. Fall Academy takes place every year two weeks before fall semester classes begin.

Winter Academy is a condensed version of Fall Academy that begins the week of Fall semester exams.

Who can attend?

All faculty and staff are welcome to attend Fall and Winter Academy sessions. Registration is made available for each event two weeks prior to the start of the academy.

If you would like to propose a session for Fall or Winter Academy, please contact any member of the Academic Technologies team with the following information:

  • Title
  • Description
  • Presenter(s)
  • Presentation format: Panel, guest speaker, workshop, information session,  discussion, demonstration (you can select more than one)
  • Duration
  • Preferred day(s)/time(s)/location
  • Technology required 

How much does it cost?

There is no fee to attend Fall or Winter Academy sessions.

How do I register for Fall or Winter Academy?

Fall Academy registration will be available two to three weeks prior to the start of Fall Academy at go.wlu.edu/FallAcademy. Winter Academy registration will be available two to three weeks prior to the beginning of Winter Academy at go.wlu.edu/WinterAcademy.

Please note that Dining Services requires a headcount 5 business days in advance of the event; as such, registration for catered session will close early.
