Campus Climate

At Washington and Lee University, we strive to build and maintain a supportive, inclusive and diverse community and create a climate that is open and welcoming to persons from diverse backgrounds.

As part of that effort, President Ruscio formed the University Committee on Inclusiveness and Campus Climate (UCICC) in 2008. The committee, which is made up students, staff, administration, and faculty, is charged with providing guidance to the President and other members of the university to ensure that the campus climate reflects institutional values that stress the importance of the individual and respect for others.

As part of our ongoing efforts, we seek feedback from members of the community by inviting all employees to participate in a confidential and anonymous online survey. This survey is administered by ModernThink, a national human resources consulting firm as part of the Chronicle of Higher Education's Great Colleges to work For Program.
