Virtual Start Friday, February 19, 2021

Due to ongoing weather concerns, Washington and Lee will have a virtual start on Friday, Feb. 19. Classes and business operations will resume as usual at 10:00 a.m. Essential personnel should report as assigned. Please use extra caution when walking and driving.

Classes:

Undergraduate and law classes scheduled before 10:00 a.m. will take place virtually where possible. Those classes that cannot take place in a virtual format will be rescheduled by the professor.

Faculty teaching in person after 10 a.m. are asked to be understanding about student absence. Faculty who cannot safely get to campus should plan to teach virtually if possible and inform your students in advance. Missed classes should be rescheduled.

Employees:

Non-essential personnel are advised to work remotely until 10:00 a.m. if possible. The university's inclement weather policy for employees (http://go.wlu.edu/weather-policy) is in effect for those unable to do so.

Staff members should notify an immediate supervisor if they are unable to work remotely, or if they have made a personal decision to delay arrival past 10:00 a.m. or be absent.

More information is available on our Inclement Weather Information page (http://go.wlu.edu/weather).

COVID-19 Testing:

Asymptomatic COVID-19 testing will resume at 10:00 a.m. Individuals with appointments scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. may reschedule for available appointments later in the day or next week.
