Weekly COVID-19 Update - Law Students
To: W&L Law Students
From: The COVID-19 Committee
Date: Thursday, March 25
Campus Community Vaccination Information Added to Dashboard
W&L's COVID-19 Dashboard now includes the percentage of all active students, faculty and staff who have self-reported COVID-19 vaccinations through the university's Daily Attestation application. The data, which will be updated weekly, reflect the date individuals reported receiving their vaccination doses.
Reminder to Record Vaccinations
Please remember to record your COVID-19 vaccinations in the Daily Attestation application after each dose you receive. Refer to your COVID-19 vaccination card and select the type of vaccine you received, and the date administered for each dose. Please also email a photo or copy of your COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card to the Student Health Center (firstname.lastname@example.org) for your medical record after you are fully vaccinated.
Vaccination Clinics and Eligibility
The Central Shenandoah Health District (CSHD) is now vaccinating all groups in Phase 1b, which includes those aged 16 through 64 years with a high-risk medical condition or disability that increases their risk of severe illness from COVID-19. Invitations for these clinics will come by email or phone call and extra appointments will be posted on their website at 12:00 p.m. the day before a clinic. Please review the specific clinic eligibility requirements before you register for an appointment. If you do not meet eligibility requirements, your appointment will be cancelled.
In addition, the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) announced today that walk-ins will no longer be accepted at Community Vaccination Centers. Individuals must pre-register to be contacted for an appointment and should bring a copy of their invitation (email, text, barcode) or other proof of name when arriving at the site.
COVID-19 Committee Office Hours
The COVID-19 Committee will hold office hours every Friday afternoon from 3:00 - 3:45 for the remainder of the term. Use the following Zoom link to drop in: https://wlu.zoom.us/j/93089623352. We look forward to seeing you! As always, please reach out with your concerns if you cannot attend one of these office hours.
Reminder: Guidance for Those Who Have Had COVID-19 or Been Vaccinated
As a reminder, you are still expected to follow all university guidelines and safety measures even if you have previously had COVID-19 or have received the COVID-19 vaccination. This includes participating in regular screening testing, unless you are currently exempt from testing. The CDC continues to advise that whether you have had COVID-19 or not, the best way to prevent infection is to take steps to protect yourself and others, including wearing face coverings, maintaining a distance of at least 6 feet from others, washing your hands, and avoiding crowds and confined spaces.
Caught You! (doing the right thing, that is!)
Public Safety continues their weekly recognition raffle program to "catch" students doing the right things (e.g., physical distancing, wearing face coverings). Public safety officers are recognizing students on the spot for COVID-safe behaviors, and handing out raffle tickets for great prizes! Follow this program on social media: WLUPubSafe on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Joshua Berland (22L) and Mallory Kostroff (23L) were among the recent raffle winners.
