Change to COVID-19 Environment Level
To: W&L Students, Faculty, and Staff
From: The COVID-19 Committee
Date: April 13, 2021
The COVID-19 Committee has recommended, and President Dudley has approved, a change in W&L's COVID-19 Environment Level from Yellow-Middle to Yellow-Low, effective today. The number of active cases on our campus and our overall test positivity rates remain low, and the pressure on our Isolation/Quarantine and contact tracing capacities continues to be manageable.
This change allows us to make the following adjustments to our guidelines and safety measures.
- Social gatherings are now limited to 15 people indoors and 35 people outdoors, with face coverings and physical distancing requirements continuing to be in place and enforced.
- In on-campus residence rooms in first-year, upper-division, theme and Greek housing, when the room occupancy is not posted, the maximum occupancy is now three people in a single, five people in a double, and six people in a triple, with students maintaining a distance of at least six feet and wearing face coverings in their rooms when anyone other than roommates are present.
All other current guidelines and safety measures as outlined on the COVID-19 Resources website remain in place at this time.
Thank you for all you are doing and please keep up the great work, being especially vigilant around masking and distancing, limiting close contacts, and keeping gatherings within the new limits, both for the remainder of this term and while on break. We appreciate all that you have done and continue to do to make this semester a success!
