Pamela Minkler '90
Pamela Minkler graduated from Washington and Lee in 1999 with a degree in Biology and then headed to medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine. While completing her residency at Lynchburg Family Medicine Residency Program she fell in love both with the close-knit medical community in Lynchburg and with her husband Mike, a Lynchburg native. Pamela made the decision to depart from general practice because she and Mike wanted to start a family, and she did not feel like she could be the kind of parent she wanted to be while under the constraints of the practice of modern medicine. Pamela opened Blue Ridge Aesthetics Center in March 2006 and started there as a solo practitioner immediately following her graduation that June. Pamela loves that she has found a niche in medicine that allows her to continue to develop and maintain relationships with her patients, utilize some of the skills she gained during her training, and avoid pagers and on call nights and weekends!
Aside from her practice and raising two young sons, Mason and Jameson, Pamela is involved with a local program, Roads To Recovery, that helps people achieve and maintain sobriety. She is also the chair of a Scholarship Committee for her summer camp, Camp Mont Shenandoah (Millboro Springs, VA), and an Advisor for the Xi Lambda chapter of Chi Omega at Washington and Lee.
